Value Additions
Merit Grub Control
Protect your lawn from the severe damage caused by grubs.
Merit Grub Control kills grubs before the damage begins
to appear on your lawn, keeping you protected from damage
all season long. Do not hesitate ordering this
time sensitive application.
Bio-Stimulants
100% Organic Kelp treatments for your lawn and garden.
A foliar spray application, to help create a bio-diverse
eco-system in your yard. Kelp treatments encourage deep
rooting and larger shoot growth. These can be applied
on vegetables and flower to encourage higher yields.
Multiple applications will increase results.
Aeration
The mechanical removal of thumb sized cores of soil,
to reduce thatch and soil compaction. This process allows
air, water and nutrients to the roots of your turf,
encouraging a deeper, stronger root system. The cores
should be left on the lawn, they will decompose with
regular mowing, and foot traffic.
Crabgrass Control
A mid summer post emergent spot treatment for this invasive
grassy weed. Multiple applications may be necessary
depending on infestation.
Power Raking
A large amount of moss and/or thatch is present in lawn
areas. With the amount of wet weather we receive in
the lower mainland annually, high maintenance is required
to keep lawns healthy. The purpose of power raking is
to remove thatch and moss. Both of these reduce the
regeneration of new grass shoots and the effectiveness
of fertilizer. Applying moss killer without power raking
does not get rid of moss. It turns black and then comes
back. In a way, thatch acts like a sponge preventing
nutrients, oxygen and water from absorbing into the
lawn. If a large amount of thatch or moss is power raked,
bare spots tend to show up. If this happens we suggest
top dressing with soil and over seeding the lawn, and
an application of root builder fertilizer.
Sand Top Dressing
After we aerate lawns in early spring, we recommend
top dressing lawn areas with washed sand. After aeration,
2-3” plugs are pulled out of the lawn. This helps
with air circulation, decreases moss build-up, helps
rejuvenate root growth, and allows nutrients to absorb
easier. Because of the amount of precipitation we receive,
the holes tend to get filled in quite quickly, thus
making aeration less effective. Top dressing with sand
into the aeration holes prevents the holes from closing
over time. This ensures direct access of fertilizer
and water into the root zones, especially during the
summer months. Water and fertilizer simply run off a
compacted lawn.
Soil analysis
Healthy lawns start with healthy soil. The only way
to find out what your soil needs is by testing it. Soil
testing is the best scientific method available to evaluate
the nutritional status of the soil. Nutrient stresses
and imbalances can reduce plant vigour, which increases
the plant’s susceptibility to damage from drought,
disease, insects, and weed infestations. Recommendation’s
for soil amendments will be made based on results of
the test.
